Yes! A bookcrossing book released in Stanley Park in April 2004 has resurfaced! I released 7 books in one day there as part of a mass release to celebrate bookcrossing's third birthday. I heard back from one the same day from another established bookcrosser, and the rest were MIA. Until Christmas Eve that is, when a new member journaled Night Train. The book is now in Edinburgh, where it was caught by a second new member!!
From The Georgia Straight, a George W. Bush quote:
"Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we. They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we."
Also from The Georgia Straight:
"According to the book Lots of Parking: Land Use in a Car Culture by John Jakle and Keith Sculle, published by the University of Virginia Press, one study established that drivers' sense of territoriality led them to take an average of 39 seconds to leave a parking spot when someone was waiting for it, but only 32 seconds when no one was around."
From Maui, an incantation which makes heavy objects light:
Wherefore then, O Tonganui,
Doth thou hold so fast,
So obstinately there below.
From Me Talk Pretty One Day by David Sedaris:
You could tell Gretchen anything in strict confidence, knowing that five minutes later she would recall nothing but the play of shadows on your face.
